Design nowA name bar sits flat above a shirt pocket, carries one or two engraved lines, and takes the abuse a printed badge can't handle: laundering, radios, duty belts, whatever the shift throws at it.
Sizes and layouts
The 1/2" × 2 3/8" bar carries a single line, usually a surname. The 5/8" × 2 1/2" bar takes one or two lines, which is the size most departments call for when a rank sits under the name.
Silver and gold are both stocked. Departments running both colors tend to reserve gold for supervisors.
Ordering for a whole department
Send a roster, one row per person, exact text as it should read. We engrave each bar individually at no extra charge and send back a proof sheet with every name before a single cut is made.
Fasteners
Military post is the default. It keeps the bar level and stops it rotating on the shirt. Magnet backing covers departments where pinholes aren't allowed.

Can you supply against a department specification?
Yes. Send it over and we confirm size, finish, font and layout on the proof before anything runs.
What happens with a long surname?
We tighten the letter spacing before we shrink the point size, and we'll flag any name that would drop below legible so you can bump up to the taller bar instead.
Can we reorder a single replacement bar later?
Yes. Your spec stays on file, so one replacement bar matches the rest of the department. Call (800) 243-9227 with the original order number.
Do I see a proof before you go into production?
Always. Nothing gets run until you sign off on a digital proof, and we do not charge for proof revisions.
