Staff actually wear the badge
Pins wreck clothing over time and staff know it, so pins quietly get left in a drawer. Take the pin away as an excuse and more people wear the badge. That's the whole metric a badge program lives or dies on.
Magnets also go on and off faster than a pin, which matters at shift change when three people are grabbing badges off the same rack.
How strong and how safe
The fastener holds through a suit lapel, a scrub top or a two-layer apron without trouble. On heavy winter outerwear, spec a pin or military post instead. Magnets and thick coats don't get along.
One caveat that applies to any magnetic badge, ours included: anyone with a pacemaker or implanted cardiac device should wear pin backing instead.

Magnetic Badges FAQ
Does the badge come loose mid-shift?
Not on normal work clothing. Where it fails is a heavy metal badge on a thick winter coat, and for that we'd spec pin or military post instead.
Can I convert the badges we already have?
If they've got a flat back, yes. Adhesive magnetic fasteners come in five-packs under badge accessories.
Will the magnet mess with phones or cards?
Keep it away from a magnetic-stripe card sitting loose in a wallet. Phones and chip cards handle it fine in normal use.
Do I see a proof before you go into production?
Always. Nothing gets run until you sign off on a digital proof, and we do not charge for proof revisions.
