Width decides whether your logo is readable
A 3/8 inch lanyard can carry a small repeated wordmark and not much else. A 3/4 inch lanyard carries a real logo with color. If the point is branding at an event, order the wider one. If the point is holding a badge, the narrow one is fine and costs less.
Breakaway is not optional in some settings
Schools, manufacturing floors and clinical environments should specify a breakaway clasp. It separates under load instead of holding a person to whatever caught the cord. It adds very little to the unit price.
Match the hardware to the holder
A swivel hook works with a punched card or a holder slot. A bulldog clip grips a card edge and suits soft holders. A split ring is for keys and reels. Ordering the wrong one is the most common accessory mistake we see, and it is easy to avoid by ordering holders and lanyards together.
